Switzerland 2019 - Recap

If you’ve been following this company for a while, then you know that Switzerland has a soft spot in my heart. The mountains in this small country take my breath away, and every time I see their mountains its as if I’m seeing them for the very first time.

So it was such a privilege to return this year to share my favorite parts of Switzerland with this group of amazing women. Seeing all of YOU experience Switzerland, and her beautiful mountains, people, food and culture for the first time, made me feel like a ’Travel Santa’ – such a joy!
On this adventure we started in Zurich, learning about the countries history from Cynthia (and a fondue stop or two) and then made our way to Appenzell for a few nights, with a warm-up hike (and tasty lunch and beers) up to Aescher Guesthouse. After our stay here we were on to Mürren for another warm-up hike to Sprutz Waterfall, and then a challenging overnight hike to Obersteinberg, led by the lovely, smart and gregarious Anne Marie. This woman is so incredible – I’d follow her into any mountain! After a long hike up, and hearty dinner candle light (there is no electricity!) we let the cool mountain air take us to sleep. The next day we returned to Mürren and toasted our accomplishments at the end with cold beers! After a good nights sleep at Ema’s Guesthouse we made the trip back to Zurich and went straight to the Zurich Thermal Baths for a lovely soak – an ideal way to end and allow our bodies to recover from the hike, and then dinner in trendy West Zurich.

Switzerland is a place I plan on visiting multiple times throughout my life; it just has that kind of hold on me. And after this trip – I have a feeling Switzerland picked-up a few more fans!

Until next time!
